Get With The Program and We Are - We are Nearly Salivating ...

I am on the cusp of both stupendous intrigue and revulsion however, I need to keep some semblance of humour less I go absurdly crazy. The day the campus shooting spree in Virginia in the US burst upon our TV screens, where 33 unfortunate people died, I recognised how deranged our society in NZ was becoming, especially NZ TV programmers.

In between the prolonged news report of this horrible event ... advertisements came on during the morning by both our two main television stations TV ONE and TV 3  urging and persuading us to tune into up and coming prime time episodes of murder and a forensic program investigating a killing.

The following night the Government station led with the above massacre as well as adverising to buy the BBC Summer Murder series on DVD ... as well as promote Cold Case another investigation of a murder.

For the next two days the foremost news item continued to be the killing at the US campus. Plus promos based on murder. This's what NZ audiences were being programed with day in, day out. I wonder who the sociopaths are who organise this - or are we now being run by robots?

Even though a car bomb went off in a Baghdad market in Iraq, killing 140 people, it had one mention in the morning news then forgotten there after.

Again, here we are smugly thinking that we are the most civilised of civilisations ... that after 10,000 years we have reached the zenith, the peak of the noon day sun for supposedly enlightened man ... yet, every day we go home to our family and watch a murder/ killing TV program so that we will go to sleep that night with images of pain, morbidness, horror and abhorrent death ticking over in our sub-conscious ... every night.

No wonder we are becoming a demented society, because we are creating it ... daily.

And the crime statistics continue to grow ...

Post Script Mid 2016.
I don't have a TV, as it is stealthy mechanism to lull viewers into unconsciousness. I may end up watching it every few years for an evening or so and guess what? It gets more and more IN YOUR FACE, every year. More and more close ups of everything and more guts and gore. I want a clear mind when I go to sleep at night, this way you will receive more clarity from me. :)

Yet, I think that I am very well informed as to what is going on local and globally.

And the NZ youth suicide rate is at an all time high ...

Duh!

There is a saying from the ancient mystery schools, that states we create our own reality, we draw to ourselves what our own thoughts are.

The trick is ... turn off your TV or just dump it and get your news from 'conscious friends' plus off the net, and watch DVD's that you choose.

And guess what? APPARENTLY NO ONE IN NZ  IS PUBLICLY ARTICULATING WHAT I AM SAYING HERE ...

No one!

Why? Because, maybe we have all become comfortably numb

From the leaders of our country - down.

We in the West, have a very polarised view of life, especially in this dualist world we inhabit. We say we are Christian, and want to follow the example of LOVE that Christ epitomised, however we have a very strange way of showing it.

When we took an indigenous tribes-person, be it from the jungle, the desert or the Arctic and showed them the image of Christ bleeding from the cross, would they from first impressions think that he was a human sacrifice?

The challenge to love our neighbour is the challenge of the world today and the United State in particular.

When Mahatma Gandhi was asked What do you think of Western Civilisation?

He replied, I think it would be a good idea.

There we have it!
